Dear Friends,

Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. As we look back over the past few months, we are reminded again of God’s goodness and faithfulness. The Lord continues to open doors for the gospel in Peru, and we are grateful to be laborers in His harvest.

Training Leaders for the Future

One of our greatest privileges this summer was teaching for the first time at the seminary in Trujillo. It is encouraging to invest in pastors and ministry leaders who will serve churches throughout Peru for years to come. Please pray that these men would remain faithful to God’s Word and lead with humility and conviction.

In addition to the classroom, we had the opportunity to spend extended time with pastors and missionaries in fellowship and discussion. Some of the sweetest moments of ministry happen around a dinner table or in a living room, where questions are asked, burdens are shared, and friendships are strengthened.

Growing Together at Iglesia Bautista Gracia

The Lord continues to bless the ministry at Iglesia Bautista Gracia. We recently celebrated  church anniversary #17 with a wonderful attendance. Looking around the room and seeing generations worshipping together reminded us how faithful God has been over the years.

We also enjoyed celebrating Father’s Day, recognizing the men who faithfully lead their families. Please continue praying that God would raise up more godly husbands and fathers who will influence the next generation for Christ.

One encouraging emphasis in our church has been personal discipleship. Throughout the week, members continue meeting one-on-one to study Scripture, encourage one another, and grow in their walk with Christ. We are thankful to see believers taking ownership of discipling others.

Reaching Young People

Sports continue to be one of our most effective bridges into the community. Nearly every week we are involved in basketball, soccer, and volleyball outreaches that allow us to build relationships with dozens of teenagers who otherwise would never enter a church.

This summer we were especially thankful for the Jonathan Washer boys team who joined us in ministry. Together we held sports outreaches, visited villages, shared the gospel, and worked alongside our church family. Watching our Peruvian teenagers mingle with these believers was a tremendous encouragement.

Many conversations about Christ began on the basketball court and we pray they continue afterward as students open their Bibles. Please pray that these relationships continue to bear lasting fruit.

Ministry in the Jungle

We continue traveling into nearby jungle communities where opportunities to teach children and families remain abundant. Even under a simple shelter children eagerly gather to hear Bible stories, sing songs, and learn about the Savior.

Every visit reminds us that there are still many communities with little access to sound biblical teaching. Please pray that God would continue opening doors into these villages.

Family Update

Our family has had several important events over the past few months.

Our son Isaiah recently underwent surgery to remove the rod in his arm, and we are thankful to report that everything went very well. We appreciate the many prayers offered on his behalf, and we are grateful for the Lord’s protection throughout the entire process. We also enjoyed spending time together as a family during several ministry trips and hosting friends in our home. These moments of fellowship are a blessing amid a busy ministry schedule. 

We were amazed at how quickly God brought in the funds allowing Joseph to travel to the US and CIT at the Wilds. Thank you for praying and giving! Buddy is traveling soon as well. 

Even the Unexpected…

Life in the jungle is never boring! One afternoon we discovered our dog confronting a large snake in our yard. Thankfully it was a type of rat snake and everyone stayed safe, but it certainly reminded us that everyday life in the Amazon brings its own unique adventures!

Prayer Requests

Please pray with us for:

• Continued spiritual growth and unity at Iglesia Bautista Gracia as well as a national pastor.
• Wisdom as we train pastors and ministry leaders throughout Peru.
• The salvation of many teenagers we meet through our weekly sports ministries.
• Open doors in jungle villages where the gospel has little witness.
• Isaiah’s continued recovery following surgery and Joseph’s recovery following dengue. 
• Strength, wisdom, and protection for our family as we continue serving.
• Upcoming conference in Arequipa, Peru may have up to 800 in attendance, and I speak 8 times.
